“If you’re reading this review, you might be thinking, “I’m in Tokyo, should I be eating 🌯?!”
Well, if you’re in Tokyo searching for great food (not just Japanese food), you should definitely give this a go! Their burrito tastes better than some burrito places in San Diego. The chef who speaks English is extremely friendly and outgoing.

I had quesadilla to-go✨and the chef also gave me a bowl of soup. The soup was so good 😭💦”

“Stopped by for a quick bite and happily found a decent Mexican style place in the neighborhood. Happy and friendly service and decent English speaking owner/chef. I got the Chicken Lime soup which had a great flavour and then a loaded Chicken Burrito with spicy red hot sauce and guac and a good pale ale. Pretty close to expectations from living in the states. When I go again might ask for the sour cream, hot sauce and guac on the side and for a little more pico, beans and salsa in the actual burrito. Also, he could go a little bigger with the tortilla so it folds and eats a little easier – but I’m quibbling. Good, tasty counter service and will go back when I need a quick MX fix and don’t want to make it myself”

“Incredible.”

“As a big taco/burrito guy from San Diego where we have the best mexican food in the US, I have to say this place delivered! The quality and freshness of the ingredients really made it stand out and I would put it against many taco shops in California. We both really enjoyed the chicken taco and chicken burrito. Juicy, delicious and packed with flavor. Add cheese and guac and enjoy!”

“Great food served by a very friendly owner that speaks English too 😁!”

“Awesome little spot! The owner was so friendly and very attentive. He spoke very good english. It was a bit of a wait because he was the only one making all the food so if you don’t mind waiting a bit it is definitely worth it 🙂 The size was great, a little bit on the smaller side but definitely very filling and you will not leave hungry. I recommend if you’re craving mexican/ a delicious burrito! There are a couple tables outside and it is on a great street and very good people watching 😁”

“Small resturant in a non-busy street, food was really good and juicy with a lot of flavour”

“Amazing food and amazing owner …. Thank you so much
Enjoy a burrito in Japan …. So tasty”

“Soooo good! I’m Mexican so I’m very picky with Mexican restaurants. I was skeptical with choosing Mexican food while in Tokyo, but this was bomb!!!! Love it here. The host is so kind and respectful. He speaks good English too!”

“老闆親切友善!”

“Had burritos and tacos, better than any Mexican restaurant we had food in Japan. Host was very helpful and talented. Host speaks good English too. Must try place, price is reasonable and fresh food. Be back again soon. Don’t forget the amazingly delicious chicken soup.”

“Best Burrito in town und sogar besser als in Mexiko!”

“The owner is very friendly. The Pico de Gallo is better them most southern California restaurants.”

“Great burritos reminiscent of LA “Fresh-Mex” style! Almost tasted like a much better quality Chipotle. Fulfilled my craving for Mexican food as an LA native in Tokyo for 6 weeks. Got the chicken burrito with the “melt cheese” option.
Chicken was tender, rice and black beans were properly seasoned. Could have been a bit spicier but next time i will ask for the arbol chile salsa option. Lettuce was tasty, nicely dressed but next time i will order without it as I normally do in Cali. The portion was perfectly filling, a bit smaller than a typical California burrito but i’m ok with that. There is an option for “mission style” which i imagine doubles the size, an homage to SF’s massive burritos. The owner was very kind and seems to have done his burrito homework! Will definitely return next time I get the craving! Wayyy better than Guzman y Gomez.”

“El burrito muy, muy bueno. A primeras, parece pequeño, pero una vez te lo comes, sacia y quedas a gusto. El trato del personal y la manera de envolver la comida es excepcional.”

“MUST visit. Easily the best burrito in Tokyo. They moved from Shimokitazawa to Harajuku close to the intersection but on a quiet backstreet.
Reopening was much anticipated for one big reason – it is simply the best burrito in Tokyo. So glad to visit again.”

“The shop is really cute. Like most shops in that area it’s rather small, so during peak lunch and dinner hours I’d guess you will have to queue for a bit.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful so even ordering lunch was quite fun. The ambiance is good, and the outside table was especially enjoyable today given the lovely weather.
The burrito was very good, if not a bit on the small side. Everything was extremely fresh and well made, giving the burrito a lovely crunch from the salad but also a very enjoyable softness from the rice and chicken. A good amount of chicken was inside so no complaint there and the seasoning was pretty on point. It was hearty and meaty but nothing too dominant. Highly recommended!”

“It is such a bummer due to construction.
Wish they will come back to shimokotazawa again.
One of best Tex-mex style burritos in my opinion.”

“Excellent burritos. Seasoned perfectly and very tasty. The price for the normal burrito is really cheap too. Well worth the price. We will come back again and again!”

“Wonderful burritos just like America! What a wonderful taste. Smaller than Chipotle’s giant burritos, but honestly they’re a filling size, especially for the price!! Only ¥780 for a chicken burrito, with the spicy red sauce topping only ¥50 more; these prices can’t be beat in Tokyo. Not a lot of seating, and it’s all outside, but if you can snag a table, it’s a nice atmosphere.”

“Delicious burrito place, there are not a lot of seats but the meat is cooked perfectly, the rice is delicious, and their spicy actually tastes a bit spicy – not Japanese spice level. The beans are very tasty too, and it’s nice to walk around Shimokitazawa eating”

“Rare to find great tasting burritos with western chili heat, great wrap and normal sized fillings 😉 Come here and try it.”

“Awesome burritos. I had a chicken one with beans and rice and lettuce and a spicy sauce/salsa. It reminded me of a Chipotle burrito from back in the States but with better flavor. The sizing was very good and I had to take my time to eat it all it was so large. “

“Mission Burrito size! Mission complete!”

“Closest taste to chipotle chicken burritos. Really yummy burritos here and cheaper than most other burrito places!”

“One of the best burrito places that I have been to in Japan. If you’re looking for something similar to American Chipotle burritos, this is the place to go!”

“This place is really good.”

“I’ve been looking for a good burrito for so long and I finally found it! The mission burrito was just like the burritos back home. Definitely going to order from here again!”

“Mexican food is notoriously hard to find in Japan and you will be happy to hear that a new burrito shop has opened in Shimokitazawa. Pico de Gallo makes tasty chicken burritos with black beans, ancho peppers, fresh salsa and domestic chicken breast. These burritos are a good size, a fair price and a welcome addition to the relatively small number of Mexican options in this city. Just be aware that this place is takeout only.”
